July Newsletter 2026

4th of July

Celebrate 4th of July with us here at Aquarium Encounters. Make memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you want to dive into one of our tanks, stay dry while feeding sharks and stingrays, we have something for everyone in the family! We will be open for standard business hours, 9 to 5.

Shark Awareness Day

July 14th is shark awareness day. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by swimming over to Aquarium Encounters. Sharks play a crucial role in our ocean ecosystems, and it is important now more than ever to conserve the species that we have left. Around 100 million sharks are killed annually, it is our job to be stewards for these beautiful animals. To learn more about sharks and how you can help, check out Aquarium Encounters today.

Mini Season

As Mini Season approaches, we wanted to refresh you on the rules and regulations so you can have a safe and successful Mini Season. Mini Season for 2026 is July 29th until July 30th. For Monroe County, there is a 6-lobster bag limit per person. The carapace of each lobster must be longer than 3 inches and measured in the water. Each lobster must be landed in whole condition and you are prohibited to take an eggbearing female. For more information, visit the FWC website. We wish everyone a happy Mini Season.

Plastic Free July

We are excited to kick off plastic free July. With around 12 million metric tons of plastic making its way into the ocean every year, we need to act fast to help reduce this issue. You can make a difference by commiting to a plastic free July. Making small everyday changes like investing in reusable water bottles, utensils, bags, and plastic free products, you can help to cut the amount of plastic that is making its way into our oceans. Healthy oceans provide us with oxygen, food, resources, and industries for people around the world. If we want to continue to thrive, we must work together to help lessen this human caused issue. Take the pledge for a plastic free July and hopefully you can use those tools and implement them in your everyday lives!
